The Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans, 2nd edition: Core tutorial is standardized by which body, according to the course material?

### Why this is right The course material identifies the Panel on Research Ethics through the Government of Canada as the body that standardized the tutorial. That identifies the source of the training, rather than the college or the student who completes it. ### The concept Standardized training is prepared under an identified body so learners encounter a shared ethics resource. In this activity, the resource is intended for students who may conduct research as part of a diploma or degree. The material also says its guidance can be useful in private industry when no mandatory ethics framework is being used. This does not mean the tutorial is described as a private certification or as a college-created course. ### The other options - **B. Conestoga College’s Week 4 Discussion Committee**: The material names Conestoga as the institution students select when registering, not as the body that standardized the tutorial. - **C. A private industry certification board**: The material mentions private industry as a possible place to use the guidance, but identifies no such board. - **D. The student completing the reflection**: Students complete the training and reflect on it; they do not standardize the resource. ### Terms - **TCPS 2**: Tri-Council Policy Statement, 2nd edition. In this activity, it names the ethics tutorial students complete. - **Panel on Research Ethics**: The Government of Canada body identified in the material as standardizing the tutorial. - **Research ethics**: Ethical guidance for planning or carrying out research. ### Remember Distinguish the body that standardizes a training resource from the institution where a student studies or submits work.
