Research libraries are established by _:

### Why this is right A research library is usually established by an organization that needs information and resources to support research or specialized work. In this classification, corporate organizations create such libraries to serve their employees and the organization’s information needs. ### The concept A **research library** is a collection of books, journals, reports, and other information resources selected to support in-depth study or professional research. A **corporate organization** is a company or other organized business body; it may create a library for staff working on research, planning, or technical tasks. This differs from a school library, which mainly supports the learning and teaching needs of pupils and teachers. The name of the institution that establishes and uses the library helps distinguish these library types. | Library type | Usually established by | Main users or purpose | |---|---|---| | Research library | Corporate organization | Supports research and specialized work | | School library | A school | Supports pupils’ learning and teachers’ instruction | ### The other options - **B. Nursery schools**: These serve young children, and their libraries are for early learning and reading, not organizational research. - **C. Primary schools**: These establish school libraries to support children’s basic education, which is different from a research library’s purpose. - **D. Secondary schools**: These may have libraries for students and teachers, but those are school libraries rather than research libraries in this classification. ### Terms - **Research library**: A library organized to provide resources for detailed study or research. - **Corporate organization**: A company or other organized business body. ### Remember Match a library to the organization it serves: research libraries support an organization’s research needs, while school libraries support teaching and learning.
