What is the acronym for effective method of study?

### Why this is right The effective study method is named for its five stages: Preview, Question, Read, Self-recite, and Test, abbreviated as PQRST. The order helps you build a purpose for reading, check your understanding, and then practise recalling what you learned. ### The concept PQRST is a study routine that guides you through material rather than asking you to read it passively. **Preview** means skim the material to see its main ideas; **Question** means turn headings into questions you want answered. **Read** to find those answers, then **Self-recite**, or explain the main points from memory without looking. **Test** yourself with questions or a short review to find what you still need to learn. The stages work best in this order because each one prepares you for the next. ### The other options - **B. QRSTP (Question, Read, Self-recite, Test, Preview)**: This puts previewing last, so it is not the established sequence; it may look plausible because it uses the same stages. - **C. QPRST (Question, Preview, Read, Self-recite, Test)**: This swaps the first two stages. Previewing comes before making focused questions about the material. - **D. None**: This fails because PQRST is the name of the study method. ### Terms - **PQRST**: Preview, Question, Read, Self-recite, Test. It is a sequence of study stages for understanding and reviewing material. - **QRSTP**: Question, Read, Self-recite, Test, Preview. It is a rearrangement of the PQRST stages, not the standard sequence. - **QPRST**: Question, Preview, Read, Self-recite, Test. It is another rearrangement, not the standard sequence. - **Self-recite**: To state or explain what you have learned from memory, without looking at the material. ### Remember For PQRST, preview first, then form questions, read for answers, recall them, and test yourself.
